Inner Voices - Sex, Intimacy, and Aging
In this poignant performance, Hedda now comes out from her usual director's role and emerges as an actor in this new and exciting venture on stage.

This performance premiered at the Sarasolo Festival in Sarasota, Florida on February 4, 2018 and won the Sarasolo Queen's Medal For Valour Award. Performances of the play can be booked alone or accompanied by a topic discussion. Hedda Matza-Haughton, LCSW is an actor, drama director, teaching artist, consultant and health educator who has been integrating drama into her work in schools and other community settings locally and nationally for over 25 years. She has also performed monologues on number of life issues, as part of education and prevention programs. Inner Voices: Sex, Intimacy, and Aging is her first solo performed play she has also written.

"Inner Voices: “Sex, Intimacy and Aging” with Hedda Matza-Haughton explores the topic through the eyes and souls of four different characters. All roles are performed by Matza-Haughton, who is an actor, drama director, teaching artist, social worker, consultant, and health educator. She is the president and founder of For the Health of It Consultation Services, co-chair of Arts for Health Sarasota-Manatee, Inc., and creator of the nationally acclaimed “Laugh For the Health of It” and improvisational drama program “Words Not Spoken.” This event will be held March 7, 2:30-4 p.m., at Temple Beth Sholom. Guest On Radio Reset

On the radio show RESET on January 2pm on WSLR 96.5PM, hedda shared information about her upcoming performances of her play, Inner Voices: Sex, Intimacy, and Aging on January 11th and March 7th. She was also joined by Lonnetta Gaines, a volunteer at the North Sarasota Library and actor at West Coast Black theatre, who shared her impressions of being in the audience during Hedda’s play.

On the show, Hedda uses her uplifting spirit and energy to inform listeners of her one woman show entitled Inner Voices: Sex, Intimacy and Aging, which premiered on February 4th at the Sarasolo Festival. Hedda also discusses her dynamic background in integrating drama into her education and prevention programming entitled “Words Not Spoken,” and her exciting work and political activism in communities throughout the United States.

In preparation for the premiere, Hedda also held a workshop at the Friendship Center in Sarasota, Fl where she performed exerpts from and discussed the topics of her play Inner Voices: Sex, Intimacy & Aging.
